Photoshop – Optimizing files for web
In this tutorial I will explain how to save files, optimizing them for web output on your websites. By doing this your web pages will load faster and the user will experience fast loading times.
First, finish up the project you are working on and go to “Save for Web & Devices…
Go to the right pane and you have your options, it looks like this…
This is where you can decide what kind of files to save and what colors to keep or remove depending on what type of file you want to save the project as.
To figure this out you must play with your options. Being new to photoshop you want to start with changing the file name such as .png .gif .jpg for graphics you primarily want to use .gif or .png but you may sometimes need to use .jpg depending on your file.
If you have a transparent background try to set the Matte to the color of the background your placing the image in. This should make your project a bit smoother and remove that cut – look.
That’s it, not too hard huh! Make sure to play around with the options and in no time you should be a pro at it.

Redesigned Site
